Boulder-White Clouds Wilderness Designation Will Protect Prime Backcountry Ski Terrain. You Can Help.
A new version of Congressman Mike Simpson's legislation for wilderness in the Boulder-White Clouds has been introduced in the Senate.
The New Bill Idaho's senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch have introduced new legislation for wilderness in the Boulder-White Cloud Mountains.
The new bill would protect 330,000 acres of wilderness in Central Idaho, including the White Clouds, Hemingway-Boulders and Jerry Peak. The proposed wilderness will protect some of Idaho's most spectacular backcountry skiing and snowshoeing terrain from development and motorized abuse. Popular mountain biking trails will remain open and not be designated as wilderness. These trails include Germania Creek, the Frog Lake Loop and the Fisher-Williams Trail.
Controversial land transfers in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area have been dropped.
