Dear Winter Wildlands Alliance Supporters,
Just a reminder that the deadline to submit
comments for a cleaner, quieter Yellowstone is
this Tuesday, March 30.
If you've already
submitted comments, thank you! If not, I hope you'll take a few minutes right
now to let the National Park Service know that you favor a healthy, quiet
Yellowstone where you can actually hear the magical sights and sounds of winter
and breathe clean, fresh air.
As I mentioned in my email
last month, the National Park Service is now soliciting public input for the
long-term management of winter use in our first national park. Over the next
two years, the Park Service will consider how best to provide public access in
winter while protecting Yellowstone's
wildlife, air quality, and natural soundscapes. Finally, after more than a
decade of struggle, this environmental study will set in place a permanent plan
for winter use.
