Arizona Communities Support Temporary Sales Tax Increase & Reform of Goverment and Tax Systems

In programs held around the state to follow up on the fall 2009 Town Hall titled "Riding the Fiscal Roller Coaster:  Government Revenue in Arizona", Arizona communities supported the proposed 1 cent state sales tax that will be on the ballot May 18. While generally supportive of the tax increase, these communities also expressed the need for tax reform that ultimately reduces the reliance on sales taxes as a revenue source.  Finally, participants expressed frustration with current financial and government systems that have led to the state's current budget crisis.
