▼ 95th Town Hall Creates Template for Fiscal Reform |
|
 |
Calls for Bold Action Spur Statewide Debate
Participants of the 95th Town Hall recommended spending cuts and a short term sales tax with a sunset provision to deal with the state's current budget emergencies. However, it was the Town Hall's analysis of long-term solutions, including the need for a limited constitutional convention, that captured the attention of some media outlets.
Echoing the rising voice from groups such as the Sandra Day O'Connor Project, participants cited the need for governmental reform as key to addressing Arizona's financial woes. Participants also called for a system that emphasized stability, predictability, efficiency and simplicity. The full report contains a detailed template for meeting these objectives.

Final reports are expected to be published by January in conjunction with community outreach programs that will be held around the state on the 95th Town Hall.
