Fall Luncheon and Conference a Success

Wendy Kopp, founder and CEO of Teach for America, inspired hundreds of Arizona leaders from around the state with stories of teachers who defied the odds and overcame substantial barriers in ensuring success for low performing students.

The luncheon also paid tribute to Art DeCabooter (pictured second from left) for his years of service to Arizona.

95th Arizona Town Hall, November 1-4, 2009

Participants of the 95th Arizona Town Hall will gather at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to address the topic of Riding the Fiscal Roller Coaster:  Government Revenue in Arizona.

While the bulk of the Town Hall involves discussions among the participants, several program speakers will certainly spark ideas.  Presentations include a panel discussion of California leaders who will address how Arizona can avoid California's mistakes, and Peter Harkness, founder of Governing Magazine.

A comprehensive background report on the topic has been prepared by ASU, with extensive input from local experts and the Town Hall Research Committee.  The report will be distributed to all Town Hall participants and finalized for publication after the Town Hall session. It can also be downloaded from
Invitations to attend this event are still being processed.  If you are interested in being a participant or in sponsoring the session, contact the Town Hall office.  For more information about the 95th Town Hall, visit the Arizona Town Hall website at www.aztownhall.org/TownHalls.asp
