On September 30, the Arizona Town Hall's fall luncheon will feature keynote speaker Wendy Kopp, founder and CEO of Teach For America.  The luncheon also will honor Art DeCabooter, who has served Arizona in many capacities including as President of Scottsdale Community College from 1978 to 2008.
 
Moving Talk to Action, the theme for the luncheon, will be incorporated into a morning workshop, hosted by partners of Project Civil Discourse and designed to provide participants with specific tools for creating positive action from informed dialogue.
 
The events, which will take place at the Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, will also feature an opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind experiences such as golf, lunch and a tour of NAU with NAU's President John Haeger; tickets to a Phoenix Theatre production and a backstage tour with Theatre Director Dan Schay; attending a UA basketball game with UA President Robert Shelton; coffee with Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon; and a jeep tour of Sedona with Sedona Mayor Rob Adams.

article2 Creating Solutions for Arizona's Tax and Revenue System
Roller Coaster  
95th Arizona Town Hall, November 1-4, 2009
 
Participants of the 95th Arizona Town Hall will gather at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to address the topic of Riding the Fiscal Roller Coaster:  Government Revenue in Arizona.
 
While the bulk of the Town Hall involves discussions among the participants, several program speakers will certainly spark ideas.  Presentations include a panel discussion of California leaders who will address how Arizona can avoid California's mistakes, and Peter Harkness, founder of Governing Magazine.
 
A comprehensive background report on the topic is being prepaed by ASU, with extensive input from local experts and the Town Hall Research Committee.  The report will be distributed to all Town Hall participants and finalized for publication after the Town Hall session.
