Solutions for Arizona's Land
Discussions Continue Around the State
cactus

How do we manage Arizona's unique lands when the population is expected to double in less than forty years?

Participants of the 91st Town Hall began the process of developing solutions to this and many other specific issues last fall. Their recommendations will be presented at programs around the state beginning in January.

Each program will include an interactive Town Hall-style discussion designed to gather input from individual communities. To sign up for a program, follow this link or contact the Town Hall office at 602.252.9600.

Who Will Teach Our Children?
Spring 2008 Town Hall to Address Recruitment and Retention of Teachers

On April 27-30, the 92nd ArizonaTown Hall will convene in Prescott around the topic of Arizona's teachers.

The University of Arizona, under the direction of Dean Ron Marx, is currently developing the background report; and we are in the process of identifying potential Town Hall participants.  If you are interested in attending this Town Hall, click here or contact the Town Hall office at 602.252.9600.

17The Helios Foundation will be a major sponsor of this Town Hall. Organizations that wish to join Helios in supporting this important discussion should contact the Town Hall office.

17There's Still Time for a Year-End Gift

As you're tallying charitable contributions for the 2007 tax year, remember that there's still time to help Arizona Town Hall create solutions in what promises to be a challenging new year for the state.  As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we depend on supporters to help us transform Town Hall recommendations into action and promote ongoing dialogues in communities throughout Arizona.

The Town Hall office will be open through noon on Dec. 31 to accept credit card contributions (602.252.9600), or send a check dated by Dec. 31 to Arizona Town Hall, 111 West Monroe, Suite 1216, Phoenix, AZ 85003.

We deeply appreciate all the support we've received this year in dues, contributions, fees, in-kind donations, and volunteer time and energy.  Best wishes for a happy and prosperous 2008!

17E-news Survey

Last month's survey established that education should be the top priority in Arizona's next legislative session.  Health care and transportation, which tied for second, were trumped by a wide margin.
