Celebrate Rocktoberfest, October 2!

Celebrate the fall season with hayrides, pumpkin painting, live musical performances, a car show, and so much more at the 11th Annual Hatfield Township Rocktoberfest on Saturday, October 2 at 1700 Cowpath Road from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It's a walk-able event with fun for all ages, and admission is free! Bring out the whole family to enjoy entertainment booths on the sidewalks, carnival games, and scarecrow making. Throughout the day community members of all ages will be smiling and dancing to the live musical beats of Flamin' Dick and the Hot Rods. Breakfast and lunch treats will be sold by Boy Scout Troop 51. Other Rocktoberfest Highlights Include: - Judged Car Show - Car show check-in is between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Meet New Assistant Township
Manager Devan Stewart
Yesterday,
September 27, marked the first day on the job for new assistant township
manager, Devan Stewart. Devan previously worked for the Montgomery County
Planning Commission as the open space grant coordinator. Devan is
looking forward to serving the Hatfield Township community, she says, "I hope
to become a familiar face to residents. I welcome everyone in Hatfield to come
talk with me so I can best help make this an even better community." Devan
resides in Upper Hanover Township with her husband, Matthew and boxer pup,

Fire Prevention Expo,
October 4

The
Abington Health Lansdale Hospital and Colmar Volunteer Fire Company are coming
together on Monday, October 4* from 6 to 9 p.m. to host a Fire Prevention Expo
in the parking lot at the Abington Health Lansdale Hospital off Medical Campus
Drive. This is
sure to be an evening of exciting preventative fire education that the whole
family will enjoy! The expo features fire and ambulance equipment, Jeff Stat
helicopter, Sparkey, and other fire prevention demonstrations. All 5th
district fire companies and Hatfield-area ambulance services will be in

your running shoes for the 8-mile OctoRun Race on Sunday, October 24. Race
starts and ends at Hatfield Community Park. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., and
race starts at 9 a.m. Pre-register before October 2 for $22. Fee to register on
race-day (and after October 2) is $25. |
Lions Club is Seeking New
Members!
| The Hatfield
Lions, a volunteer organization of your friends and neighbors dedicated to serving
the needy and less fortunate in our area since 1939, is seeking new members!
They are part of Lions Clubs International, one of the largest service
organizations in the world with over 1,300,000 members in over 200 countries.
The current
club is 20 members that live and work in the Hatfield Township area. They're aiming to increase our membership for the 2011 year. Read more about the Hatfield Lions.

Fall 2010 Leaf &
Branch Pickup Schedule
| Hatfield
Township leaf and branch pickup services begin in November. Collect your leaves
and branches and put them at the curb by 6 a.m. on your pickup day. All leaves
and branches should be placed at the curb line or edge of the driveway and
without obstructing the sidewalk. Bookmark the fall 2010 leaf and branch pickup schedule for the season.
