Have You Heard? School Road Park Is Internet Enabled!
|
Here's a way to enjoy the
outdoors and still get your computer work done - Grab your netbook, your laptop or
your iPhone and head on over to School Road Park. The Park has been WiFi-enabled for a while now, but unlike a
new pavilion, this is a park feature you can't see! Help the parks board (pictured above) spread the word, and stop in to try it out. Open your wireless client and connect
to HatfieldTwp_PublicWiFi. The
connection is very good from the pavilion, and the range has been reported as
far as the parking lot to the west and the third-baseline bleachers of the
senior baseball field to the east. The service is free and open to the public.

Flush Fund Receives Grant
| The Parks and Recreation
Board's fundraising campaign for a restroom building for School Road Park
received a major boost from Pennsylvania.
A $34,575 grant from the Department of Community and Economic
Development was garnered through efforts by Rep. Robert W. Godshall and Parks
Board Chairman Wayne Rutter. The
parks board has raised more than $40,000 so far for the project, estimated to
cost between $70,000 and $100,000. Other funds have come in from fees for use of parks facilities and
sports fields, and proceeds from the parks board's MusicFeast picnics.
