Celebrate Earth Day in Hatfield
This Weekend!
Saturday, April 17
Give back to Mother Earth as a community on Saturday, April 17 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.!

At Hatfield Township's Annual Earth Day celebration volunteers will plant trees and shrubs in parks, germinate seedlings, pick up debris and fallen branches, and will collect litter along stream corridors. Additionally, township and borough residents will be able to recycle hazardous household materials, shred personal documents, and recycle old tires at 2 locations. This event is free to township and borough residents!

Put Grass Clippings in Compost Pile, Not in Storm Drains!
As you maintain your well-manicured lawn this spring, be sure you don't dispose of grass clippings and other lawn care waste in storm drains. When it rains, excess grass clippings, along with lawn care chemicals, are washed into storm drains that empty into streams. Their decomposition is harmful to aquatic life and creates a lack of oxygen in water.

What You Can Do
Grass clippings provide valuable nutrients and organic matter to your lawn, shrubs, and flowers. So, sweep up those extra grass clippings and mix them into the soil, or add them to your compost pile!
