Saturday, April 17
Sign Up for a Volunteer Project by April 8
Plant trees and shrubs, pick up debris and fallen branches, or come up with your own environmental project for Hatfield Township's Earth Day celebration on April 17. Kids, adults, individuals, and clubs are encouraged to volunteer; you provide the labor and we'll provide work gloves and trash bags. Please download and complete the Service Project Reply Form by April 8 and we'll match you up with a work assignment.
 
2 Locations for Paper Shredding & Recycling on April 17
This year we have 2 locations to handle paper shredding and recycling collection. Each location is collecting different materials, be sure to check for the correct location before heading out. These services are free to Hatfield Township and Hatfield Borough residents. Not for commercial use.

Public Works Facility
2590 Unionville Pike
8 a.m. to noon
Paper shredding ends at 11 a.m.
Bring yard waste, cardboard, tires, air conditioners, and refrigerators. Bring old personal documents for secure paper shredding by Nova Records.
 
Penn Services
2869 Sandstone Drive
8 to 11 a.m.
Bring most electronics for recycling and almost all hazardous materials.

Five & Dime Race and Free Health & Fitness Fair - Sunday, April 11
Five & Dime Race
Registration: 7:30 a.m.
Race: 9 a.m.
 
The first race of the 2010 Hat Trick series features a 5-mile run, 10-mile run, and 5-mile family fitness walk. Event includes a flat and fast wheel-measured course, water stations, refreshments, a DJ, and door prizes.
 
Health and Fitness Fair
In addition to the race, health and fitness service providers will showcase their services at the Health and Fitness Fair. Guests at the fair will be able to receive a massage from a therapist, see kids enjoy a bouncy inflatable, and put their name in a drawing for an individual seasonal membership to the Hatfield Aquatic Center.

5% Early Bird Discount for 2010 Aquatic Center Membership

Hatfield Aquatic Center FunAfter a cold, snowy winter, we're gearing up for a hot, sunny summer! Get your Aquatic Center membership online now and receive a 5% discount on your membership. The early bird discount ends Thursday, May 27, and we open our doors for the early season on Saturday, May 29.

College Scholarship
Applications Due April 1 & 2
Hatfield high school seniors heading to college next year are eligible for these local scholarships. Applications and more details are available on the township website. See below to see if you qualify.
 
North Penn Health, Hospital and Education Authority Scholarship

Deadline: April 1

Four scholarships for $1,000 each are available. Eligibility:
  • Graduating high school seniors 
  • Hatfield Township residents 
  • Top 25% of their graduating class 
  • Plan to pursue a degree in education or healthcare
Applicants must submit a completed application, personal essay, and 2 letters of recommendation. Read more & download an application.
 
Officer William J. Chapman Officer William J. Chapman Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: April 2
 
Four scholarships for $500 each are available. Eligibility:
  • Graduating high school seniors from North Penn High School, Christopher Dock High School, Lansdale Catholic High School, Calvary Baptist, or Souderton Area High School
  • Plan to pursue an undergraduate degree in a public service-oriented field such as criminal justice/law, education, social work, or medicine
Applicants must submit a completed application, a copy of their high school transcript, and a letter of recommendation. The scholarship board will interview applicants during the week of April 12. Read more & download an application.

Real Estate Tax Discount Period Ends March 31

Don't miss out on the Real Estate Tax 2% discount; pay your taxes by March 31.
 
Ms. Murphy offers business hours at both the Hatfield Township Municipal Building and her Lenhart Road Office for questions and payments. She can also be reached at 215-393-1781.
 
U.S. post-marked payments are accepted, or residents may submit payments in the mail slot in the office door at 2028 Lenhart Road at any time.
