Well, the team didn't make it home
before Christmas. Weather at Patriot Hills delayed their departure. We always
wish the weather was perfect but it is Antarctica, after all. But think of it this way - how
many people in the world have spent Christmas on the Ice? Pretty wild! Big
Christmas dinner with all the other climbers and the ALE staff. And a
successful climb of Vinson, for the entire team, was their best Christmas
present ever! Everyone was back home on Dec. 28, just in time to enjoy New
Year's Eve parties with family and friends. I can't think of a better way to
spend the holidays.
Two successful climbs down and one
to go. Our final IMG team for the 2008/09 season departs on Jan 7, arriving
Punta Arenas on
the 8th and they're hoping to fly to the Ice on the 10th.
Mike Hamill and Greg Vernovage will be leading 8 IMG customers on a trip to the
top of the bottom of the world. We'll keep you
posted.
