Dana Point RFP Updates
Greetings!

The Orange County Board of Supervisors has once again postponed consideration of the Dana Point West Marina management RFP. It will not be considered at the May 22 Supervisors meeting as planned. At this time no rescheduled date has been provided.  We have been assured by the Supervisors' office that this delay is the result of their continuing desire to give fair and thorough consideration to the four bidders, and they require additional time to review and validate the details of their proposals.  We will continue to follow this matter closely and will pass along information as it develops.

We also owe you a correction to our 5/17 Boaters Blast on holiday parking: On Memorial Day weekend, 80 customers of Catalina Express will be permitted to park in boater parking, split evenly between the east and west cove lots. Last year 80 vehicles were permitted in the east cove lot. If successful, this plan will be repeated on the Labor Day holiday. However, our boater parking lots will indeed be reserved strictly for boaters on the 4th of July. We apologize for our earlier error.

Enjoy your weekend!

Mission Statement:
The Dana Point Boaters Association advocates the preservation, enhancement, and expansion of affordable recreational boating resources.  We work to improve the family friendly atmosphere and breadth of water-oriented actives we all enjoy in the harbor.  We serve as the watchdog by ethically protecting the rights of all boaters and representing them when collective action is most effective.  We actively gather information and communicate our views to educate boaters, external interests, and public officials.  We build and maintain constructive, working relationships to achieve common goals with other harbor stakeholders.  We will pass on our harbor to the next generation of recreational boaters in better condition than it is today.
Questions should be directed by email to (Officers@DanaPointBoaters.org).  Or call us at (949) 485-5656 and leave a voice mail and we'll get back to you soon.
