Dear Contact First Name,

BOATERS PROVIDE SEIR FEEDBACK

The Directors and Advisors of the Dana Point Boaters Association have been meeting with most all of the various stakeholders in our beautiful harbor for several months now, including boaters, merchants, yacht brokers and OC DPH in a constructive effort to revisit the scope of the Harbor Revitalization project. Our goal being to improve on the construction timetable, reduce costs, increase ongoing transparency and make meaningful water side design changes to improve the project from a recreational boating perspective.

These efforts have now culminated with a very detailed proposal that DPBA has submitted as feedback to the Harbor Revitalization Subsequent Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) published on September 16th.

You can read the 7 page DPBA document on our website special Draft SEIR Webpage. When you do we're certain you will be glad you did! You see, both the situation assessment and 9 proposed plan revisions are thoughtful, candid and constructive. (Yes, a small group of dissident boaters will quote excerpts out of context and take cheap shots later as usual, but why not read it and decide for yourself?)

Next steps? There is a SEIR Scoping Meeting scheduled on December 8th, Thursday, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dana Cove Room at the Dana Point Harbor Sailing and Events Center next to Baby Beach.

You still have time for your response to the Draft SEIR.
Written comments responding to the adequacy and appropriateness of the Draft SEIR should be delivered/sent no later than 5:00PM on November 21, 2011 to: OC Dana Point Harbor, 24650 Dana Point Harbor Drive, Dana Point, CA 92629. The Draft SEIR and supporting technical reports are available for review by interested parties on our website in its entirety at http://danapointboaters.org/seir.php.

For the Board of Directors and Advisors,

Rodger Beard, President

Mission Statement
The Dana Point Boaters Association advocates the preservation, enhancement, and expansion of affordable recreational boating resources.  We work to improve the family friendly atmosphere and breadth of water-oriented actives we all enjoy in the harbor.  We serve as the watchdog by ethically protecting the rights of all boaters and representing them when collective action is most effective.  We actively gather information and communicate our views to educate boaters, external interests, and public officials.  We build and maintain constructive, working relationships to achieve common goals with other harbor stakeholders.  We will pass on our harbor to the next generation of recreational boaters in better condition than it is today.
Questions should be directed by email to ([email protected]).  Or call us at (949) 485-5656 and leave a voice mail and we'll get back to you soon.
