From Tonight's DPBA General Meeting

Top

We'll provide a full report later on an excellent meeting tonight, including Brad Gross's slides and notes on the extremely productive Q & A discussion.  Tonight we just wanted to pass along some really great news:

MAY 1ST SLIP RATE ADJUSTMENT IS OFF

OC DPH has gained the OC CEO's office approval to forgo the May 1 slip rent rate adjustment!

That's right, for now at least, slip rents are going to stay the same!  As discussed here previously, there's ongoing discussion already under way on next steps, including a re-look at how rental rates are to be determined going forward.  Stay tuned for more later.

PIT 2007 APPEAL REFUND CHECKS ARE IN THE MAIL

Those 60% refund checks we've been waiting for  following the victorious 2007 PIT appeal are in the mail and several boaters in our meeting tonight advised that they had received theirs in the mail today!

Sean Kelley at DePasquale, Kelley & Company also wanted us to pass along that they have established their fee for all their  hard work and very valuable services rendered for the 2007 tax year.  They'll be sending out invoices shortly to individual boaters receiving these refunds.  We're sure that these boaters will be very pleased when they see those invoices, which will be only 50% of their actual refunds.

As Sean Kelley discussed at our January meeting, the forecast for 2008 PIT Appeal then featured "morning low clouds and fog".  We'd hoped this  would "burn off" by now but surprisingly, the visibility is less now than it was then.  There will be more news here when the darn fog lifts.
