Ask Miss Maintenance
Dear Miss Maintenance,
I have little bumps on the backs of my arms. Other than regular
exfoliation, is there anything I can do to help get rid of this
annoying (and embarrassing) problem? Sincerely, Rough Times
Dear Rough Times,
The annoying bumps you're describing are actually indication of a
skin condition called Keratosis Pilaris. No need to be alarmed,
Keratosis Pilaris (or KP) affects an estimated 50% of the world's
population. Besides being harmless, most don't even know they have
KP. While there is no known cure for KP, you can treat the
symptoms and minimize the appearance of these unsightly bumps.
Since
KP is related to your body's inability to regenerate the surface layer
of skin, you'll need to help your skin regenerate. DerMed's Glycolic
Bodywash and Glycolic Body Lotion are the perfect one-two punch to
treat KP. Both the bodywash and lotion are packed with 10% glycolic
acid to aid in the regeneration of the skin. Use this combination
daily and you'll see a dramatic difference in about 7-14 days. You can
even use the lotion twice a day for faster results. Consistency is key
for KP treatment so once you start, you'll need to keep up the
routine. Trust me, you'll want to when you see how smooth your arms
are.
