Greetings!

Ok...it's June. I usually start the eNewsletter off with a comment relating to the month in question, but honestly, for right now...I've got nothing.
Well, nothing except for:
It's our 50th Issue!!!
<ahem>
It's not that there's nothing going on. The Republican Primary is over so now we can get to a civilized discussion and election (pause for laughter). Or we can wait for the Indians to do their mid-season implosion (pause for sadness). Or blame anything insect/allergy/mushroom related on the mild spring (or the President, or the Republican Congress).
Or we can talk about Window 8, and how the next release of the Beta (excuse me, "Preview") is in June. In May I had a chance to review Windows 8 for about 30 attendees of the Akron chapter of the AITP. Again, the response was fantastic towards the tablet version, with the jury out on the desktop (didn't spend a lot of time on the server version at the meeting).
I'll be speaking to more folks in the future, already have a couple more speaking engagements in the next couple of months on Windows 8 (always willing to talk to other groups, give me a holler if you're interested).
As you can see below, we're making the personnel changes hinted at last month. Monica Baird joined us in May as Office Manager, and Brandon King went from part time to full time. We'll be saying hello to a new intern (as Dave Monroe moves on to bigger and better things) within the next week or so. Stay tuned to our blog for an intro article.
And another reminder, plan for our 4th annual Simplex-IT picnic, which this year will be Wednesday, August 15th!
Did I mention IT's our 50th Issue?!?!?!!
Anybody want to buy some Facebook stock? Hello? Helloooo???

Simplex-IT invites you to our next Free Lunchinar: "This Is What We Do...!"
From the beginning, Simplex-IT has been dedicated to a singular goal - keeping our clients' investment in Information Technology working at maximum efficiency while providing strategic value in achieving that goal. Broadly stated, that's what we do! But how we do it - and the benefit our clients enjoy as a result - is not always obvious.
At this month's free Lunchinar, Bob Coppedge will reveal the what, how and why of what Simplex-IT does. More importantly, he will demonstrate how our efforts positively affect our clients' business goals. If you're a business executive or IT professional, you won't want to miss this highly informative and revealing presentation.

Just a reminder that Microsoft's fiscal year ends June 30th, and if you're looking to:
- Upgrade your Windows or Office
- Migrate to Office 365
- Implement SQL 2012
- Get your licensing into some kind of sensible order
Now's the best time of the year in terms of deals and savings.
We can help you make sense out of your Microsoft Licensing. Seriously, we can. Well, as much sense as Microsoft Licensing is going to make to anyone, that is.

(Thanks to Sarah Dutkiewicz for pointing this out)
Microsoft is once again making available a goodly amount of free (yup, free) learning/training resources. And it's just in time for picking out that summer reading for on the beach!
Yup, you know how it goes. The summer breeze, sun beating down on you, listening to some nice tunes on your Zune...ok, skip the Zune part. But you know what would make it better.

Bob here. It's hard to believe that we're now putting out our 50th eNewsletter, and to over 2000 folks. Simplex-IT started back in August 2007 (almost 5 years old, hard to believe). So we didn't exactly put out an eNewsletter every month since our beginning, but darn close to it.
I do want to thank all the people that directly or indirectly helped put those 50 puppies out, including:

Toy Story 2 - Almost a "no show" because of bad backups!
One of my all-time favorite animating studios is Pixar. I'm sure I've seen everything they ever created. One of my favorite series is Toy Story. Did you know "Toy Story 2" almost didn't make it to the big screen?
The story goes, someone entered a code and the hard drive containing the Pixar story was automatically erasing the "Toy Story 2" movie. There vanished Al's Toy Barn, the characters, and Andy's room, oh no! 20-30 people working for a solid year would have to recreate all the work that was erased in about 20 seconds.

Whenever summer rolls around, two things come to mind:
> Blockbuster summer movies
> Hot dogs.
And when somebody can handle both needs? Like "The Dark Night Rises" and...um...hotdogs?

And we haven't forgotten the Trekkies...er, Trekkers...ah...geeks out there. Let's face it:
