Greetings!

Ahhh...April in Northeast Ohio. It's April 1st (at least that's the date this is being released...your temporal position in the space/time continuum may vary). And April first means, of course, that the Cleveland Indians get to play baseball in near-winter conditions. Can life be any simpler?
For us, it means a busy month. We added 5 new customers to our SiMS program (the most in a month). And we're talking with several other organizations, and hope to bring several others on board in April (our first one is already scheduled for next week). Manufacturing, education, service industry...a wide variety of organizations.
But it's not all great news. Well, actually it is, kinda. At the beginning of the month we lost Alaa Hamdan, who was with us first as an intern and then doing some part-time work for us, to a full-time support gig over at Robinson Memorial (he's actually working with/for a bloke I used to work with on a project over at Kent State, so he's in good hands). Alaa still drops by about once a week to see how we're doing.
And Lindsey Karoly, who was working 2 days a week, starts a new gig with Hyland Software next week, closer to her home. we certainly wish her well.
And so we're looking to hire a new full-time technician, which will end up giving us more hours support. If you're interested (or know someone who is), see the article in the eNewsletter for more information.
I'm going to be particularly interested in the upcoming Lunchinar. I have a special place in my heart for data, and an even more special place for the use of data. This one should be good. And having Doug Tombow to tag-team the presentation with is just icing on the cake.
Finally, as I mentioned above, this eNewsletter was put out on April 1st. Did I mention that?
Bob

"Making the Most of your Data for the Small-Medium Business" (Our free Lunchinar for April)
You are invited to join Simplex-IT for our next free Lunchinar: "Making The Most of Your Data for the Small to Medium Business".
Your computer systems keep track of everything. From customers to suppliers, purchases to sales, inventory to backorders. But the key question is, are you using the information to your best advantage? And are you protecting it as carefully as you should?
Many companies already own the tools to answer "yes" to both those questions. It's a matter of setting them up and watching them run. Join Simplex-IT's Bob Coppedge and Doug Tombow as they explore the various options that are built into database tools that your company may not be using to their full advantage.

New Microsoft Cloud Strategy - the WC Project
Simplex-IT, a Microsoft Partner, has just received some information about a new Microsoft Project that, if true, will absolutely revolutionize the concept of Cloud Computing.
The program is apparently titled "Windows to the Cloud" (it's also called "the WC" for short). And it's breathtaking. We were given a view of a LiveMeeting conference call that was hosted by Max Pruss, who is apparently the Captain of this project.
What is it?
As is widely known, Microsoft (and other companies) has been busy over the past several years building extremely large and highly secured server farms...large facilities where thousands of both physical and virtual servers, along with the storage, are kept, maintained and operated.
Real Estate costs, insurance, power constraints, local zoning laws all contribute to a high cost of both ownership and operation.
Where is it?
the WC program aims to do away with all the limitations of this strategy, while still maintaining the functionality of the Server Farm concept. And their solution?
Airships.
Yes, lighter-than-air vehicles...click here to read more.

March Lunchinar Introduces Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2011
Wednesday, March 16,2011 saw the introduction of Microsoft's Small Business Server 2011 at Simplex-IT's free monthly lunchinar at Hattie's Cafe in downtown Hudson. An enthusiastic and eager group was on hand to get all the details from Bob Coppedge and pose questions.
Small Business Server 2011 is the logical evolution of the Small Business Server family. It consists of three versions: SBS 2011 Essentials, Standard and Premium Add-On. Very attractively priced for the organization that is moving into a centralized server network the three versions have been optimized to meet the unique needs of different businesses.
For more information on how a Small Business Server might benefit your company and which of the three versions might be more appropriate for your situation contact Simplex-IT at 234.380.1277 or John@Simplex.IT.com. We'll be happy to provide you with all the details and guide you in the right direction. |
| BPOS Password Change for Outlook Users | |
Bob here.
Ok, we're seeing a lot of people use our Blog entry on how to change your BPOS Password on the web. But we thought it would be useful to include instructions on how to change your password when using Outlook along with the Single Sign In Tool (keep in mind that BPOS will require a new password every 60 days. So hopefully you'll notice the notifications down by the icon).
Ok, so here we go! By the way, you'll need to know your current password in order for this to work. Don't remember it? No problem, just contact your Administrator, who can reset the password with a temporary one.
First of all, double-click the Sign On Tool Option (see below):

That'll bring up the Sign On Tool, possibly to this Page:
