At ElderCare at Home we are fortunate to work with so many families that are willing to help care for their parents and/or stepparents.  But that is not always the case.  I recently found a very interesting article written by Jo Cavallo that I thought I would share with you this month.

The article provides some great insight as well as some additional information on where to get help. You can read the complete article here.

If you live locally and would like help in selecting an elder care service provider, contact us at www.eldercareathome.org  or call (800) 209-4342 for a complimentary in-home consultation.
The Color Test
BrainElderCare at Home  We all know that we need to stimulate our brains and keep ourselves mentally challenged.  Here is a fun Color Test that I found.  Give it a try and then email me and let me know how many times it took you before you got 100%. The first person who emails me the results receives a gift certificate!  Good Luck!

Dr. David Ross"My mom has been a widow for the past 10 years and she is 82 years old. What makes things really hard is that she doesn't drive and likes her independence.

She lives in Florida and I live in Pennsylvania.  Lately she has been complaining that she is getting weak. I don't know what to do. I don't know where to turn".

My daddy11 Father's Day Quotes

"Any man can be a father, but it takes a special person to be a daddy".

Clarence B. Kelland's coach regarding fatherhood, "my father didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it".

"Every father should remember that one day his son will follow his example instead of his advice".

Theodore Hesburgh wrote "The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother".

William Shakespeare on fathers "it is a wise father who knows his own child".

William Busch wrote this about fatherhood " becoming a father is easy enough, but being one can be very rough".

Sigmund Freud wrote "I cannot think of any need and childhood as strong as that need for a father's protection".

Charles Wadsworth "by the time a man realizes that maybe his father was right, he usually has a son who thinks he is wrong".

One night a father overheard his son pray: "Dear God,  Make me the kind of man my Daddy is.  Later that night, the Father prayed.  Dear God.  Make me the kind of man my son wants me to be".

Harmon Killebrew wrote about fatherhood "my father used to play with my brother and me in the yard.  Mother would come out and say, 'you're tearing up the grass'.  "We're not raising grass".  Dad would reply. "We're raising boys'".
