Once again the fine members of the Massachusetts Brewers Guild colaborated to organize the 2nd Annual UltiMAte Beer Dinner.  If you attended the event last year, you know that this is not a night to miss.
 
This year, the dinner will be held on
Saturday February 27th at 7pm
at 212 Northern Avenue.
 
Located at the Exchange Center on Boston's Historic Waterfront, this 5-course meal will feature brews from several local craft breweries, as well as many limited release beers. 
 
Samples and hors d'oeuvres will be served prior to dinner service.

Vintage Baseball Sneak Peak
 
There may be snow on the ground, but plans are already in the works for the Ipswich Brewers 2010  Vintage Baseball season. 
 
Here is a look at the tentative schedule for early summer:
 
May 23rd: Spencer Pierce Little Farm, Newbury
 
May 29th: Location: TBA
 
June 20th: Special Father's Day Game at SPL Farm.  Food and Festivities TBA
 
July 25th: 2nd annual game at Raymond Fields in Ipswich, hosted by the Ipswich Historical Society.

Here we are in the middle of winter, and there is plenty going on at the brewery. 
 
Much progress as been made at the Ipswich Ale Brewery including the addition of windows and garage doors, as well as the installation of our CO2 tank.  It is a huge project, but it is really coming along!

Mass Brewers Guild UltiMAte Beer Dinner
Boston, MA ~ 7pm
An event not to be missed!
 
Bacon Wrapped Fiery Shrimp
    
Nosh on this at your Superbowl Party, or anytime!
 
Ingredients:
2/3 cup Vietnamese chili-garlic sauce (such as Srihacha)
1 heaping Tbsp minced garlic
1/3 cup Olive Oil
28 large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
14 slices bacon
ground pepper to taste
 
1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a zip-seal plastic bag and mix well.  Add shrimp and marinate several hours in the refrigerator.
 
2. Preheat grill to medium.  Soak bamboo skewers in water, 20 minutes.  Cut bacon slices in half.
 
3. Wrap a half-slice of bacon around a shrimp and thread on skewer.  Repeat until all are wrapped.  Grill until bacom is cooked evenly and shrimp are opaque.
