Recipe: Malty Maple Cornbread
Ipswich Dark Ale

Malty Maple Cornbread

1 cup coarse ground cornmeal
1 cup Ipswich Dark Ale
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp. baking powder
2 large eggs
1/4 cup melted butter

1.  Preheat oven to 400F.  Grease 9x9" pan.  Combine cornmeal, Ipswich Dark Ale, and maple syrup in small bowl.

2.  Sift flour, salt and baking powder into large bowl.  Add cornmeal mixture, eggs and melted butter.  Stir until well blended

3. Pour batter into prepared pan.  Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.  Cool 10 minutes.

TIP: For an extra flavorful crust, place the greased pan into the oven to pre-heat.  When batter is ready, pour into hot pan and bake as directed.  This will create a thick, brown crust with a deep, rich flavor.

Enjoy this recipe on St. Patrick's Day!
