Summer Fun

We are continuing our study of animals.  We are moving to a new category- marine life!  The children will become aware of the differences between fish, whales, starfish, crabs, and more.  Some learning experiences planned include:
  • Learning colors, sizes, and parts of fish
  • Observing hermit crabs in a  home
  • Creating marine life out of a variety of materials
  • Exploring different types of shells

This month our sensory table will include lots neat objects for exploration including seaweed, shells, and boats and ocean creatures in water.

We will also spend some time talking about beach and summer fun activities including sand castles, and making out own t-shirt designs.

July 15th will be Luau Day and we'll be celebrating with island music, the limbo, grass skirts, and leis.  We'll also have a yummy watermelon snack.   Max

Calling All Parents!
Parent Board Recruitment

We had no response to our request for help, so we are trying again.  Early education programs rely heavily on staff and parents working together to make the program the best for the children.
We are hoping that parents will rally together to help Stay & Play with some fundamental aspects of programming.
Our goal is to form a group of parents who will assist in:
  • fundraising
  • recruiting volunteers
  • program projects
  • program policies
  • event planning
  • volunteering in the program
  • small maintenance

If you are interested in becoming a member of our Parent Board please contact Taryn Lytle (Kailey & Ashlyn's mom) at: tlytle@hubfamilies.org

Fatherhood Dan with children
Much has been written about mothers and raising children, but what about fathers? Men feel the conflict between what it takes to build good relationships with their children, and how to handle the pressures of the workplace as much as women.
Fathers may also experience attitudes that women are better at handling the demands of raising children. For many fathers it is difficult to be involved with their children because of feelings of incompetence or that mothers know best. Your relationship and love for your child is as important for your child's happiness, self-esteem and social and academic success as his relationship with his mother.

Please keep your feedback coming.  We welcome new suggestions for making Stay & Play an even better place for you and your children.
Sincerely,
Stay & Play Staff
