End of the Year Items
As the end of the year approaches there are a few house keeping items to take care of.

Each year the Child Development Bureau requires child care centers to update registration forms on current children.   Our registration form has been updated to include some voluntary reporting information.  The HUB is primarily funded through grants and personal donations, and as a result, we are often asked to provide information regarding our participants. Please fill in as much as you wish, all information is confidential.  These will be in your child's cubby to be returned by January 1, 2008.

Vacation credit is offered to families who have had continual enrollment for six months.  A credit of one week's payment is available to use by Dec 31st.  Please contact Laura if you would like to have your account credited.

Please remember Stay & Play will be closed the week of Dec 24-30th, but tuition is still due for this week.  We will be open Monday December 31st.

Tax statements for child care payments will be available the first week of January.  Please contact Laura if you need a statement.Thanksgiving

Holidays, Green, Stars, & Alphabet

The end of the year is upon us and the children are excited about the holidays and snow coming.  Our theme this month will concentrate on traditional holiday activities including jingle bell painting, gingerbread houses, evergreen activities, and reindeer food.  At this time of the year, we invite your family to share your family traditions with the children at Stay & Play.

Staff will also continue our Letter of the Week curriculum, focusing this month on letters M, N, & O.  Letter of the Week allows children opportunities for book handling, letter- sound awareness, letter recognition, and pre-reading and writing skills.  Immersing children through letter crafts, dramatic play, poems, and games will build on all developmental domains. Watch for Spilled Milk paintings, Newspaper Ns, and Ornaments.

The color of the month is GREEN If your child wears GREEN to school they will get to show it off at circle time.

If I Had My Child To Raise Over Again
Original Author Unknown

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I'd do less correcting, and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less, and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more
kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging, and less tugging.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd build
self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd teach less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

We strive to build positive relationships between Stay & Play staff and families.  Please feel free to offer any suggestions that might make our program the best in the area.
Sincerely,
Stay & Play Staff
