INFINITI LAW: LAW ALERT
  June 13, 2007

EB PRIORITY DATES CURRENT!!
The State Department just released the Visa Bulletin for July 2007 and all of the priority dates for the EB filing categories (with the exception of the 'other worker' category) are current. So beneficiaries who are currently in the United States from all countries with EB1, EB2, & EB3 filings can proceed with preparation of the adjustment of status filings for filing in July. Anyone outside the US who is proceeding under consular processing to obtain their immigrant visa can do so as well.

USCIS FEE INCREASES TO TAKE EFFECT 7/30/07
Note, the USCIS recently announced that a substantial fee increase will take effect starting July 30, 2007. The following petitions commonly filed by our clients are increasing as follows: I-129 (used for nonimmigrant work visas such as H, L, O, etc) is increasing from $190 to $320. I-140 (employer immigrant petition) is increasing from $195 to $475. I-485 (adjustment of status) is increasing from $395 to $1,010. The above noted fee increases are not inclusive, please visit our website for the complete list of new fees.

In light of the sudden advancement of the priority dates, we urge all clients to file their I-485 petitions prior to July 30, 2007 in order to avoid the increased fees.
