Celebrate Freedom
4th of July The 4th of July is a very special holiday in Pagosa Springs. Locals and tourists can enjoy a myriad of activities including the Red Ryder Roundup Rodeo, the Park to Park Arts and Craft Festival, and a wonderful carnival for the kids. July 4th itself starts with the traditional small town parade, and ends with a huge display of fireworks in the sports complex. And during the day BBQ grills are lit from one end of town to the other. It's the best of life in a small town.

If you should ever want to get back to your "grassroots" we invite you to come spend some time in Pagosa Springs. There's not a better place to visit in the summer. And as a matter of fact, it is hard to beat in the winter too.

Short Week for Shipping
With the holiday on Monday, our normal shipping day, we will not be shipping any UPS 3 Day Ground orders. This primarily involves California and Texas shipments.

New Mexico and towns on the western slope in Colorado only take one day and those orders can go out on Tuesday. Orders to Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Wyoming, Idaho, Kansas, Oklahoma, and the eastern slope of Colorado only take two days, so they can go out on Tuesday as well, but we prefer to ship on July 11th, if possible. Also want to let all of you who are in hot, hot areas know that we will be shipping with dry ice for the rest of the summer to insure that the meat gets there still frozen.

Problems with Toll Free Line
Last week we discovered that our toll free line was not working within the state of Colorado - folks who tried calling got a busy signal. We have no idea how long it was out, but we deeply apologize if you were unable to reach us. Hopefully you tried us on our other line - 970-731-1471. This is also the best line to use if you are calling from a cell phone.

New Order Form
If you have looked at the website in the last couple of weeks you have probably noticed that we have a new order form. I am personally very excited about this as the old form had lots of problems, and some folks were not able to use it. The new form has a lot more information about each package or cut. Take a look at it when you get a chance, and if you have any suggestions for improvement please let us know.

As before, online checkout is not available. While we know that this might be a problem for some, because of the flexibility of our packages and the variables involved in shipping we cannot accommodate online payments. And besides, we enjoy talking with each of you, getting to know you just a little bit, and we hope that you like getting to know us a little better as well.

New Warehouse
New Warehouse Thought you might like to see a picture of the new warehouse. This became a much larger project than anticipated. We began the move the middle of March and yesterday got our second walk-in freezer working - finally. Now we have 12 x 32 feet of freezer space and will be able to service our growing customer base much more efficiently. We are hoping that we will be in much better position to meet the growing demand for our meat. Thank you all so much for your support.

The address is 140 Seminole, Unit #8. We are anticipating having it open a couple of days a week for walk-ins, and as a matter of fact some of you have already stopped by to pick up your orders. Lisa and I plan on getting it a lot better organized over the next few weeks. Perhaps one day soon we will host an Open House. More on that later!

July Special
We recently increased the price on Ground Beef to $5.99 per pound, consequently increasing all of the beef packages as well. We hope you will agree that our Ground Beef is still a great value at $5.99. With so many of our costs increasing this was a move that we felt was necessary. We have elected to keep all of the other prices the same, and will try to hold them for as long as we possibly can.

Keep in mind that if you order the Ground Beef Family Package it brings the cost down to $5.00 per pound, and when you order the Junior Ground Beef Package the cost is only $5.50 per pound. However, place your order by July 31st, tell us that you want the old price, and we will charge you the former prices on the Ground Beef and the Beef Packages. Now that's a good deal!

In Closing ...
It has been very hot and dry in the southwest and Pagosa Springs is no exception. We had a bit of rain on Thursday for which we are very happy, and are hoping that the typical summer rains are on their way. Oklahoma is dangerously dry and we would very much appreciate your prayers for rain. God is so good, and in spite of the lack of rain the animals are doing great and we have not run out of grass. This 4th of July we should all be grateful for the freedoms that we have in this country, and all of our bountiful blessings.

Lois, Allan, Lisa & Family
