Is It Really Winter?
Except for a few feet of snow that fell at Christmastime (while we were in Houston) southern Colorado has been enjoying a long string of sunny winter days, although our nights have been quite cold. After a couple of very snowy winters I must say this is a nice respite. My customers at the Made In Colorado Shoppe report that the skiing at Wolf Creek Ski Area is wonderful, so I guess we can say that so far this has been a perfect winter.

Allan spent a few January weeks in Oklahoma and he reported that the cows and calves are doing great - couldn't be better. That is a blessing and we are expecting some great beef for you this year. Although at this time we do not raise our own lambs, but contract with other all natural producers, it looks like we should also have plenty of lamb this year. And it seems we have a ready supply of chickens as well. Looks like it will be a good year for grass-finished meats!

New Warehouse & Freezer
We are happy to announce that we are moving into a new warehouse on March 1st, a move long anticipated and much awaited. We have outgrown the 12 x 12 foot walkin freezer that we have now, and have contracted to buy a used 12 x 16 freezer that we should be able to pick up the middle of February.

These are very exciting times - both expanding to the next level, and GrassRoots being able to provide our customers with larger inventories and better selection. We are also hoping to add a commercial kitchen to the warehouse very soon. This will enable us to provide you with processed, all natural meats, sausages, and jerky. More on that as it unfolds. For now we will be busy getting everything set up and operating smoothly. Forgive us if there is any delay in getting back with you during these very busy times.

Colorado Springs Delivery
We will be coming to Colorado Springs to pick up the freezer sometime this month, so if you would like delivery anywhere along that route please let us know. The cost will be $.75 per pound, with a $25.00 minimum. We will send another email blast when we know the specific date, but if you could let us know ASAP if you are interested in delivery that would help us a lot.

Denver Delivery
On February 24th I will be coming to the Denver Gift Show, and would be happy to deliver meat to any of you along that route. Again, the cost will be $.75 per pound, with a $25.00 minimum. We will be staying in Thornton, which should be good news to all of you folks north of Interstate 70. No need to meet us downtown! All orders will need to be placed by Monday, February 21st. The sooner you let us know the better as it requires a lot of packing and coordination for delivery runs.

Sweetheart of a Deal
This is the month for lovers, especially meat lovers! For February we are offering a Sweetheart of a Deal. For the amazing price of $255.00 you will receive one package each of Beef Filets, New Yorks, and Ribeyes, two packages of Top Sirloin, an Eye of the Round Roast, one package each of Lamb Rib Chops and Sirloin Chops, two packages of Loin Chops, a Boneless Leg of Lamb, and one package each of Bone-in, Skin-on Chicken Breasts and a Chicken Family Pack. And FREE FREIGHT to anywhere within a 3 day UPS Ground ship from Pagosa Springs takes this package to the sweetheart level. Or if you would like we will deliver it free of charge when we come to Denver or Colorado Springs.

WOW! Now that is a Sweetheart of a Deal! Get your orders in - this is for the month of February only.

Sweeten the Deal
To make life even sweeter, from now until the end of March take 25% OFF our already low prices on condos at the Wyndham Resort in Pagosa Springs. A 1 Bedroom Suite will cost only $420 for a full week - that's $60 per night. A 1 Bedroom Deluxe will run $506, or $72 per night, and a 2 Bedroom Deluxe will run $750 per week, or $107 per night. The condos sleep 2, 4, and 6 respectively, with a hideabed in the 1 Bedroom Suite should you want to sleep a couple extra people.

Wolf Creek Ski Area is known for the most snow and the deepest powder in Colorado, so if skiing is your passion, or even if you just want to try it out, this is your opportunity. This offer is only good through us - it is not available through Wyndham. With President's Day in February and Spring Break in March, you need to call soon for the best chance of getting a room. Those are very busy times in Pagosa, but we will do whatever we can to get you a room. If you want to stay for 3 or 4 nights instead of a week, let us know and we will check that out for you as well.

In Closing ...
Allan bought a Border Collie pup in Booker, Texas, on his way home from Oklahoma. She is only 6 weeks old, adorable, and already finding her way into everyone's hearts, especially Allan's. He had one great dog over the years (now gone) and is always wanting to find another. Perhaps this is the one. God bless you all and hope you will be spending Valentine's Day with a loved one.
