BRRRRR.......

It's mighty cold here in Pagosa Springs. Allan has been chopping ice out of the stock tanks so the animals can get water to drink and putting out a bit of hay to supplement the grass slowly disappearing to the frequent snowfalls. Soon we will be taking our last load of animals to the processor and the cold Colorado winter will be something to enjoy. Our cows will be basking in the less frigid winter temperatures of Oklahoma and our Colorado pastures will be resting and recovering, receiving the much needed moisture from the snow.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our kids and grandkids and we hope you did too. We will be gone over the Christmas holidays, and the last day we can ship for 2010 is Monday, December 20th. We will not be shipping on December 27th or on January 3rd, but will be ready to ship orders again on January 10th. Please place your orders before December 20th to be assured of delivery before Christmas.


New Chicken Packs
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have some new chicken packs available which we hope will round out our selection. We are now offering Bone-In, Skin-On Chicken Breasts for $9.29 per pound. This is in contrast to the boneless, skinless chicken breasts at $10.99 per pound. Remember that with range fed chickens the skin is not only delicious, it contains Omega 3's and CLA and is actually very good for you.

We also have whole chickens cut up into quarters - our Chicken Quarters, for $5.59 per pound. Much easier to deal with than a whole chicken for those of you not fond of cutting them up yourselves. And lastly we have Chicken Drumstick/Thigh Combos for $4.79 per pound. These are fabulous for grilling and sure to be a best seller. As I said earlier, hopefully this will round out our chicken selection and offer something for everyone.


GrassRoots Featured at SunDowner
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sundowner The Made In Colorado Shoppe hosted the November SunDowner for the Pagosa Springs Chamber of Commerce on November 17th, and GrassRoots Meats provided the sliced roast beef as well as shredded barbequed beef. There were rave reviews all around with many folks ready to become new GrassRoots Meats customers. It was a lot of fun and a great opportunity to showcase our wonderful meat.


December Specials
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How about a luscious Rib Roast or a tantalizing Rack of Lamb for that Christmas dinner? For December we are running our Boneless Rib Roasts for $14.99 per pound. Whole Rib Roasts generally run about 9 to 10 pounds, but we also have a few half roasts that are about 3 to 4 pounds each.

Or perhaps a Rack of Lamb would better suit your family. For December we are offering the Racks for $13.99 per pound. This is sure to be a crowd pleaser. And remember, our supplies are limited and the offer is good only while supplies last so get those orders in ASAP to be assured that we can fill your order.


In Closing ...
