It's Snow Time!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lisa has had her hands full this past month with sick children, so I (Lois) am composing the November newsletter. Been a while since I have spoken with you and I have certainly missed it. My gift store (The Made In Colorado Shoppe) has had a very busy year, in spite of the economy, which just proves once again that it is God's economy, not ours, and we truly live under his constant blessing.
We had a few inches of snow here in southern Colorado this past week - nothing like Denver and the northern areas. However, it has been VERY cold - about 20 degrees below average - so summer is beginning to look like a distant memory. The snow we did get is quite beautiful, though, and it promises to be a great winter. Wolf Creek Ski Area opened today, for all of you ski enthusiasts. If you have never skied Wolf Creek, you have missed a real treat. We have the most snow and the most powder of all the Colorado ski resorts, on average, with low price lift tickets and short lines. It doesn't get any better. If you decide to visit be sure to let us know so we can get together while you are here.
Delivery to Colorado Springs and Arizona
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just a reminder that we will be headed to Colorado Springs this Thursday, November 5th, if you live anywhere along the way and would like to have delivery of your order. PLEASE call by Tuesday, so that we can get it arranged and packed. Price is $.75 per pound, with a $35.00 minimum.

On November 11th we will be headed to Scottsdale, Arizona, and anyone along the route wishing to have delivery can contact us by Monday, November 10th, to arrange it. Again, the cost is $.75 per pound, minimum $35.00.

New Prices in Effect
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All of the new pricing is posted on the website. Most prices stayed the same, and some went down. Hopefully this is the only price adjustment we will need to make for a long while. Believe me, we are sensitive about changing prices and only do so as we really need to. We really appreciate your understanding.
$20 Off
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Take an extra $20 off the Ground Beef Family Package for the month of November. This makes an already great value even better. Time to stock up for the winter.

Tongue Special
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have lowered the price of Beef Tongue to $3.99 per pound. However, for the month of November we have lowered the price to $2.99 per pound, taking it over the top in value. For those of you who have never tried tongue this is a great time as you have almost nothing to lose. There are some great recipes on the web so be sure to do some searching.
I like to just boil the tongue in a broth with salt, pepper, garlic, onion and a little celery until fork tender. Remove the tongue from the broth and immediately plunge it into ice cold water which allows the skin to be easily removed, or pealed. I then slice it and return it to the broth. It can be served on a sandwich with a horseradish/sour cream/mayonaise dressing, or with mashed potatoes or noodles as a main dish. Yummm!
Sirloin Tip
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have lowered the price on Sirloin Tip Steak and Sirloin Tip Roast, to $8.99 and $7.99 respectively, making them another incredible value. The Sirloin Tip Steak is leaner than the Top Sirloin, and is wonderful grilled or broiled. It is also perfect for Stir Fries or Fajitas. One of my favorite dishes is Beef Stroganoff, and Sirloin Tip works well for this.

Sirloin Tip Roast makes the perfect Sunday dinner when oven roasted to medium rare and served with mashed potatoes, vegetable and dinner roll. Sear it in a hot 450 degree oven for 15 minutes, then turn down to 325 degrees until the internal temperature of the roast reaches 120 degrees. Remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes. You will have a perfect medium rare roast - tender and juicy.

Turkey Day Special
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Did I say turkey? Shame on me! Our Turkey Day Special is actually a beef package of incredible value. You will receive 2 pounds each of Sirloin Tip Steak, Top Round Steak, Bottom Round Steak, Stew/Kabob Meat, a Top Round Roast, a Chuck Roast, and 20 pounds of our delicious Ground Beef, all for $149.99. That's about 34 pounds of meat. You do the math on this one - it is a fantastic value and our way of saying thank you.
Just let us know that you want "that darn Turkey Day Special!"
