Shalom!

What a great start to the year!  We welcomed 18 students to school this week, grades K-5, and began MJCDS's fifth year of bringing Jewish day school education to Madison.

It's the month of Elul, a time when we reflect on what's important to us and think about the kinds of lives we would like to live in the new year.  During the first week of school, that means thinking about how we treat our fellow students and creating routines and habits that will set up students for a successful year of learning.

This week was a wonderful beginning: students created a Hebrew puppet show (K-1), began studying autobiography (4-5), and practiced the first step of the scientific process (inquiry) by developing questions about our school's neighborhood (3).

Lots of photos are below, but if you'd like to see more, you can find them here.

Families and community members (that's YOU) are invited to join us this coming Monday at our annual Wingra Park play date at 10 am.  Hope to see you there!

Shabbat Shalom!

Rabbi Rebecca
