Wear Blue and White Thurs. April 26
Thursday, April 26, Israel turns 64! To honor her on her special birthday we will have a special program in the morning from 8-10 am. Please send your child(ren) to school wearing blue and white.
Student Performance at Community-Wide Yom Ha-Atzmaut
Celebration, Sunday April 29
MJCDS students will perform at the community-wide Yom HaAtzmaut celebration at the
 Goodman Campus, 1:30-4:30. Students should wear blue bottoms such as blue jeans and white tops. Performances begin at 3 pm. Beginning at 1:30pm there will be activities for all ages, including a family treasure hunt, bounce house and Israeli carnival. Performances begin at 3pm, featuring children from the Hilde L. Mosse Gan HaYeled Pre-school, Madison Jewish Community Day School, Chug Ivrit and Yonim. Special musical guest: The Gomers! Israeli food will be available for purchase through Banzo. MJCDS Science Fair, Tues. May 8, 5:30-6:30 pm This year's fair will take place on Tuesday night, May 8 from 5:30-6:30. Please check your child's backpacks for more details. This year, K-2 students will conduct experiments at school, while 3-4 students will conduct experiments at home. Third and fourth grade students will be working with Ms. Goldman to select an experiment and to monitor progress toward sharing their scientific findings with all of us in May!
Students Perform at Sharsheret Dance Festival Sunday, May 20, 2-4 pm, Middleton Performing Arts Center MJCDS students will perform as part of the Sharsheret Dance Festival this coming May and will also display their artwork alongside works by fellow students from across the area. Please mark your calendars for this special event! There may be a morning rehearsal time this day as well--more information to come. About the Festival: The Sharsheret Dance Festival is an exciting event for all ages. The festival showcases talented youth dance groups, this year there will be Israeli dancers (from Madison and Chicago), a Chinese dance group and an Indian dance group. The event will feature dancers from preschool-high school, and even a 'surprise' appearance from some parent dancers. The Sunday Festival is the culmination of the Sharsheret Dance Camp, a weekend long camp for 5th graders- 12 graders who have spent an intense weekend learning new dances from a guest choreographer from out of state. Before the Festival you can browse through an art gallery featuring pieces created by students from the local Jewish community.
