Shalom!

It's almost here:  the holiday designed to get kids to ask great questions and to turn all of us into creative storytellers.  In the below photo, students act out the 10 plagues. (Pictured here: frogs)

Wishing you a sweet and meaningful Passover Holiday!

Ain chametz! No leavening. Why? Because our 1/2 class spent time making sure our school was properly prepared for Passover.

Kindergarteners learned that Passover is coming, Pesach Ba!  Passover, the Holiday of Spring and Holiday of Freedom is here!

Indeed, the students were well prepared for their class sedarim. Many thanks to parents for providing the necessary items to make the seders special. Thanks as well to Romy for helping with the seders this year! Kindergarteners studied in Hebrew and English and reviewed the order of the seder, all of the items on the Seder Plate, the Four Questions, and the answers: Learning that we were slaves, but now we are FREE!

Our students in grades 1-4 class enjoyed a more traditional Hebrew version of the Seder. We focused on the theme of FREEDOM, asked many questions and discussed answers - mainly in Hebrew of course!

During all this time we took a "cleaning video," pictures and sang songs. Especially beloved this year was: Had Gadyah.

We wish everyone a happy and meaningful Pesach!

About the Festival:  The Sharsheret Dance Festival is an exciting event for all ages.  The festival showcases talented youth dance groups, this year there will be Israeli dancers (from Madison and Chicago), a Chinese dance group and an Indian dance group.  The event will feature dancers from preschool-high school, and even a 'surprise' appearance from some parent dancers.  The Sunday Festival is the culmination of the Sharsheret Dance Camp, a weekend long camp for 5th graders- 12 graders who have spent an intense weekend learning new dances from a guest choreographer from out of state.  Before the Festival you can browse through an art gallery featuring pieces created by students from the local Jewish community.
