Journey Stories: A Museum on Main Street Exhibit 

The Mosely Gallery at UMES will be hosting "Journey Stories," a traveling Smithsonian exhibit from October 18 - November 30.  The exhibit includes accounts of immigrants coming to America, stories of families moving across the country in search of their own homestead or employment, and the harrowing journeys of Africans and Native Americans forced to move.  Related programming at the library is also planned for October and November - details below. 

 

Delmarva Education Foundation (DEF) - Literature Racks & College Prep Workshops

DEF has provided literature racks for the Princess Anne and Crisfield Libraries filled with information about the college application process, financial aid, scholarships for all ages.  DEF will also offer College Prep Workshops this month for teens & parents - details below.

The Ida May Skipjack
Filmmakers David and Tara Gladden will screen and discuss their documentary, The Ida May Skipjack.  The documentary took six years to complete and details the restoration of the Ida May and the history of Skipjacks, the oyster dredging workboats, that are so much a part of Somerset County history.
