CTPF Makes Appeal for Fair Fundinglegislation

H
ighlights from Spring education and advocacy efforts

The CTPF Board of Trustees has been working on behalf of members to educate Illinois legislators about CTPF pensions and their importance to Chicago's teachers.

CTPF Director Testifies before Illinois House

May 8, 2012, Executive Director Kevin B. Huber testified before the Personnel and Pension Committee of the Illinois House. This testimony explained in detail the issues that CTPF faces as our funding ratio has eroded over the past 10 years. This was an important opportunity to share this information about our fund and to explain CTPF's legislative priorities.

CTPF Members Support May Lobby Day

More than 70 active and retired members traveled to Springfield on Wednesday, May 16, to personally lobby legislators to support fair funding and to ask for a guarantee of employer funding for CTPF.
The successful lobby day was a cooperative effort coordinated by
the Chicago Teachers Union and included representatives from the Retired Teachers Association of Chicago, the Chicago Principals and Administrators Association, and CTPF.
