Open Enrollment around the corner

2012 Health Insurance Open Enrollment for Retired Members around the Corner

The CTPF open enrollment period for health insurance will run
October 1 - 31, 2011. 

 

The annual Open Enrollment Period for the CTPF health insurance program runs from October 1 - October 31, 2011. During Open Enrollment, CTPF retirees may enroll in a CTPF health insurance plan for the first time, change a health insurance plan or carrier, or add a dependent to a health plan. Changes made during this period go into effect on January 1, 2012.  This program offers insurance for retired members whose final teaching service was CTPF and their eligible survivors and dependents.

All Current Plans will Continue

All current health plan administrators: Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BCBS), UnitedHealthcare (UHC), and Humana will continue to offer plans in 2012. Retirees who want to continue coverage under their current health plan do not need to take any action to stay enrolled, current coverage will continue.

  

Medicare eligible Members will see a Cost REDUCTION

The 2012 rates for all CTPF plans for Medicare eligible members have been reduced between 9% and 20% for 2012.

  

Watch Your Mail for 2012 Handbook

Watch your mailDetailed information about plan offerings as well as benefit changes to existing plans can be found in the 2012 Health Insurance Ha2012 Health Insurance Handbookndbook and Open Enrollment Guide, which will be mailed to all eligible retirees the last week in September.   

 

   

Review Your Handbook

Even if you want to keep the same insurance coverage, you should carefully review the handbook to make sure you understand the 2012 benefit changes. Check the CTPF website, www.ctpf.org,
for updated information.

Attendees can also direct questions to CTPF staff and health insurance plan administrators, and receive assistance filling out forms. Registration is required; see below for information.

There are several self-park garages located near the Thompson Center, including the self-park garage in the CTPF building at 203 North LaSalle Street.

Seminar attendees may purchase reduced parking vouchers for $15, (check only, no cash) at the seminar (vouchers are only valid at the 203 North LaSalle garage). Entries for the 203 North LaSalle building are located on Lake Street between LaSalle Street and Clark Street and on Clark Street between Wacker Drive and Lake Street (look for self-park signs at entrances).  

  

Thompson Center Public Transit

The Thompson Center has direct access to the CTA. The CTA's blue, green, brown, pink, purple, and orange lines all stop at Clark and Lake. Click here for transit route planners.
