Fire Families,

Congratulations to all who raced in Westfield yesterday. It was viciously windy out there and the Fishers Fire came through the Storm Victorious. WE WON THE MEET. But it was close. Team and Individual results are posted on Facebook and the official results are posted at

2 new races on calendar.

The Liger Mile on October 18th at HSE school. This is optional and you have to register for it. Info below and link in race calendar. This race is a fund raiser for HSE XC

The Hoosier XC Classic on Oct 28 at Northview Christian in Carmel. Also an optional race. Link and registration info in the race calendar. This will be a good preview for the USATF state meet

First some important upcoming dates and Deadlines

Sept 29, 2012 Middle school race at Northview Christian Church....runners who wish to run this race can do so on their own. Registration info in the link to the left. We will not be supporting this race. We will have practice that morning at riverside school.

October 1, 2012...USATF, if you plan on running in the USATF tourney. you will need to have your membership in and a copy of the Childs birth certificate mailed to USATF/indiana membership chair.

Oct 13, 2012 Fishers Classic-you are already registered

Oct 20, 2012 Midwest Championships-you are already registered.

November 1, 2012....YES, if you plan on competing in the YES race and meet the qualifying standard you will need to be a member by early november.

Tentative schedule is listed to the left, Races hosted by The Fire are free to fire runners. Races we travel to will have a associated fee (info will come in upcoming news letters).

If you plan on racing in the USATF races or YES races you will need to be members of those organizations. More information in next weeks email.

Anyone will to be an assistant coach please contact us at fishersfire@gmail.com, assistant coaches will have to fill out the background check sheet at the HSE SPORTS office.

USATF MEMBERSHIP

Optional

USATF membership is optional, unless you want to participate in the USATF junior Olympic Tourney. This consists of the Indiana State meet (all fire runners are eligible to participate). Advancers can then run in the regional (in Illinois) and National meet in New Mexico.

Cost to join USATF is $20.00 and can be done at the USATF website www.usatf.org

If you join, be sure to sign up as a member of the Fishers Fire, club #0177.

You will also need to mail a copy of your childs birth certificate to the Indiana USATF membership chair at the address provided at time of registration.

LIGER MILE

October 18th

HSE HIGH School

The 2012 Liger XC Mile will take place on Thursday,

October 18th at Hamilton Southeastern HS! This

race/run/walk is for ALL K- 6th grade students in the

Hamilton Southeastern School District. School team scores will be kept for intermediate and elementary competition.

www.getmeregistered.com/LigerMile $16-includes t-shirt with all competitors names on the back, listed by school! And the always awesome LIGER Logo! Medals for top 3 finishers in each grade- both male and female. Ribbons for all Finishers.

Online with shirt by Friday Oct 12th, Noon.
Online without shirt by Tuesday Oct 16th, 6:00 PM.
Same day registration: Onsite, without shirt.

Hamilton SE High School Cross Country Course---South side of the school property adjacent to the tennis courts. 13910 E 126th St.

What

1 mile Cross Country run for ALL Hamilton Southeastern K-6th graders. Races will run in succession. Predicted schedule:

Packet Pick up 4:15-5:00PM (Arrive Early!) K,1st, & 2nd male and female 5:00PM
3rd & 4th Female 5:20
3rd & 4th Male 5:35

5th & 6th Female 5:50 5th & 6th Male 6:05

The Course

The 1 mile grass course will run the perimeter of the elevated practice fields between the H.S. and Fall Creek Intermediate. Why

To promote health & fitness, and introduce the lifelong sport of running.

Cost

$15.00; which includes a T-Shirt if registered on-line before Tueaday Oct 18st at noon, timing by End Results. Results will be posted at onlineraceresults.com.

Awards Medals for top 3 finishers in each grade, for both male and female. Ribbons for all Finishers.

XC COACHES NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Terre Haute (12/1/12) The Cross Country Coaches National Championship race is in Terre Haute this year. Cost to join YES (youth enduro sports) is $10.00 and is a requirement to run this race. We will have more information on this event as the season progresses.

Volunteers

Coach Assistants, Meet Helpers, and board members.

Any parent who wants to help the coaches during the practices, just approach any of the coaches and we'll get you started.

For the home track meets we will need volunteers to help, be prepared to step forward to help when I start passing the lists.

The Fire Board of Directors will be holding elections in June 2012....all positions will be up for election and we would love to have you help the Fire stay the best club in Indiana. More information as we approach the elections.
