Happy New Year from TEKA Illumination

TEKA ILLUMINATION SIGN LIGHTS SHINE AFTER SOLID-STATE UPGRADE

TEKA Sign Lighting Upgraded to LED

Unobtrustive by day ... dramatic by night ...  new LED fixtures on our building's facade do more than just illuminate our company's name.

They represent TEKA Illumination's New Year's resolution for 2012 ... "out with the old and in with the new."
Custom DWM 5210/2
As part of the recent retrofit project, four TEKA Illumination Twin Directional Flood/Spot luminaires (DWM-5210/2) with fully adjustable lamp heads on extended 48" copper stems were modified to accept the new solid-state components, mounted on PM2 Universal Power Modules and re-installed 6 1/8" over the top of the TEKA letters. (See Custom Corner for additional details)

In this case, the "old" 50W MR16 Halogen lamps were taken out to make room for "new" BKSSL™ and the Power of 'e'.

Our 'e' chip technology provides:
BKSSL Technology Modular Board and Driver System
  • Integrated 8 Watt solid-state system is scalable for field upgrade.
  • Modular design with electrical quick disconnects permit field maintenance.
  • Exceeds ENERGY STAR® lumen maintenance requirements.
  • LM-80 certified.
  • Integral non-dimming driver.
  • Minimum 50,000 hour rated life at 70% of initial lumens (L70).
  • LED Color - 3000K warm white light.
  • Interchangeable OPTIKIT™ modules permit field changes to optical distribution.
  • Adjust-e-Lume™ (pat. pending) allows dynamic lumen response at the individual fixture.

Utilizing just 64 watts, the new solid state sources consume nearly 85% less energy and will last ten times longer than the halogen lamps used previously.

"Just look at the result," says TEKA Illumination Executive Vice President Ron Naus. "We now have a brighter, more powerful and environmentally friendly exterior message to greet our customers and visitors."

TEKA Illumination encourages building owners, building operators and facility managers to replace old, less efficient lamps with new higher efficacy sources.

January's Best Shot

The picturesque facade of the Stowe Mountain Resort is styled after Vermont's famous mountain cottages that relied heavily on woven timber and quarry stones. As you can see, TEKA Illumination Beacon Shaded Bollards (BSB) reinforce the architectural plan beautifully. Michael Willard of the SE Group sent in this month's Best Shot, so we're sending him $100 cash. Thanks Michael.
