Parents Play Important Role in a Child's Education By Paul Combs

 

       Research shows that children are more successful when parents and schools work together. One of the greatest responsibilities parents have is to make sure that their children attend school regularly, eliminating unnecessary late arrivals and absences. The course work at ISC is challenging and students who are excessively absent may fall behind academically. On the other hand, good attendance helps students develop responsible work and study habits, and ultimately prepares them for their chosen career.

Companhia Athletica Partnership 

 

      ISC is proud to announce the new agreement with Academia Companhia Athletica. This partnership will make ISC the official school of Companhia Athletica's new project called "See Ya!" that reinforces the holistic and balanced education promoted by ISC.

The Project Approach by Mari Bolzani 

 

           Our Early Childhood Program uses the Project Approach for learning. Research in education highlights the fact that the children learn better when they are exposed to a variety of learning possibilities. The project approach at ECC takes into consideration the interests of the individual children, and they are given the possibility to work cooperatively, in groups and individually, and are introduced to a wide range of learning opportunities. Projects create a positive disposition towards learning.

International Peace Project by Paul Combs

 

          We are pleased to announce that three students from the International School of Curitiba were recently selected to represent all children within Brazil by participating in a worldwide project called "The International Peace Quilt."

A Busy Semester for ISC Athletes

               

          The first semester of 2011-2012 school year has been busy for ISC athletes and their coaches. Approximately 60%of ISC students participated in afterschool athletic activities including soccer, volleyball and basketball practices after school, tournaments and sporting events on the weekends.

2012-2013 School Calendar

        

          The new school calendar for the 2012-2013 school year has been adopted. A copy of the calendar can be downloaded from the Bulletin Quick Links. Listed below are some of the important dates for your information:

  • August 1, 2012 - First day of school
  • December 12, 2012 - Last day of regular classes for the 1st Semester
  • January 28, 2013 - First day of 2nd semester
  • February 11 to 15, 2013 - No School - Carnival
  • March 28 & 29, 2013 - No School - Easter
  • June 8, 2013 - Graduation
  • June 19, 2013 - Last day of school
