One Question--If you gave a donation to SSC, why might it be beneficial for you?

We know it will be good for SSC, because the amount will be doubled by a grantor, and help us do our important work.
If making a donation would be good for you too, follow this link to donate on our website.

Thank you so much!

Words of Wisdom

The future will belong to the nature-smart--those individuals, families, businesses, and political leaders who develop a deeper understanding of the transformative power of the natural world and who balance the virtual with the real. The more high-tech we become, the more nature we need.

CarolCountering the Culture of Consumerism

By Carol Meyer
Executive Director of Sustainable Sanctuary

Mindless consumption is perhaps the greatest underlying cause of the planet's environmental woes. Can't we trace every environmental ill back to greedy humans wanting more and more of everything? And it's a vicious cycle--as we lose touch with the natural world, emptiness engulfs our souls that we seek to fill with things. The more consumption, the more harming of nature and the less it has to offer us.

Calling all Missouri Congregations --

Now you can get solar energy with no upfront costs and significant savings.Solar Panels 2

Special solar leasing program available for a limited time

Brightergy, a Kansas City company specializing in solar energy systems, has a lease program for Missouri  KCP&L nonprofits. They install and maintain the solar panels, you pay a low monthly lease payment (less than you would pay the utility company), save money, and benefit the Earth.

A typical solar system will eliminate over 46,000 pounds of CO2 each year. And your facility can be a guiding light to inspire the community. Now that's something to feel good about!

To be eligible for this program, your congregation must sign up by August 31, 2012. To get started, contact

Susan Brown at Brightergy: 816-877-6760 or susan.brown@brightergy.com

Tell Susan you heard about this program from Sustainable Sanctuary Coalition and Brightergy will make a "thank you" donation to our organization.
