Oh, how I remember my first weaving project!
I was living in a cabin on an isolated mountain where there was not another weaver within 50 miles.
I wish I had then what you have now: expert advice on downloadable DVD's; professionally designed projects with detailed instructions, hundreds of yarn colors, weights, sizes in oh, so many choices of fiber.
That first project (yes I was as daring then as I am now!) was in 10/2 perle cotton! The same wonderful, versatile, practical 10/2 we now call Pearly Perle at Cotton Clouds. I loved it then and I love it still. Yes, it's a fine yarn, but not so fine that you'll go blind or insane warping and weaving with it. Give it a try!
