Irene's Good Health

Heart Happy

When my father died of heart disease, I decided to take care of my own heart. I lost 25 lbs, found an exercise routine I loved (NIA and yoga), began to meditate, eat lots of fruits & veggies (I'm almost a vegetarian) and take time to smell the roses and laugh alot!

Now I can share Heart Health Awareness by sponsoring Stitch Red, a campaign sponsored by the yarn industry to alert women of early warning signs of heart disease.

Join me in first learning the facts about heart disease (Click Here for an informative PDF booklet) and then in spreading this news with every woman you love!

Knit, weave, crochet or spin one of our Stitch Red  exclusively designed quick & easy projects. We'll donate 10% of all sales through March 1, 2012 to Heart Truth.

Celebrating Stitch Red

Why It Matters

Stitch Red

One in 4 women in the United States dies of heart disease, while 1 in 30 dies of breast cancer.

Twenty-three percent of women will die within 1 year after having a heart attack.

Within 6 years of having a heart attack, about 46 percent of women become disabled with heart failure. Two-thirds of women who have a heart attack fail to make a full recovery. The fact is, if you've got a heart, heart disease could be your problem. Fortunately, it's a problem you can do something about.

What YOU can do:

  • Talk with your doctor about early warning symptoms of heart disease
  • Click Here for the The Healthy  Heart Handbook for Women
  • Watch Video Heart Attack Warning Symptoms
  • Share Heart Health Awareness with every woman you love; forward this email, talk about it, write about it.
  • Better yet, knit, weave, crochet, spin and share heart health with our exclusively designed Stitch Red kits. Click Here to learn more!
