Holiday Stress Busters

Wondering how you're going to survive the stress of this holiday season?
1. Start a new project! It seems crazy to start a new project in December, but it is actually the BEST time.
2. Make time for yourself! Weaving is a meditative art. It's quite soothing to pass the shuttle and press the yarn into place, to see fabric form right before your eyes.
3. Be creative! The time we spend selecting yarns, planning our projects, and warping (yes warping) our looms give us pleasurable anticipation on how we will use the weaving-as a gift, to decorate our table to welcome guest, to treat ourselves.
4. Listen to music! Whether holiday, classical or the songs of your teens, music calms your soul and ads a rhythm to your craft.
5. Don't be rigid! Move, dance, bend, stretch! But speaking of rigid, consider the rigid heddle loom. It is portable and makes weaving within reach even during the busy holiday season. For just that reason, we're featuring rigid heddle weaving here.
Taking time for yourself, no matter what you do this holiday season is essential to good mental, physical and spiritual health. Click Here to learn more about making time for a yoga practice which applies just as well to making time for your creative pursuits!
