youth_programYouth Programs need you!

If you can help with any of the following, please contact Andy Chinn here.

Cooks for Youth Camp:

Youth Camp, which will be held July 27th through 30th at Wilderness Northwest, needs cooks to prepare food. Cooks may participate for the whole time, or just a portion.

A Vehicle for Canada Mission Trip

The Canada Mission Trip will depart August 11th and return August 19th. The youth group needs a vehicle that can carry eight to nine passengers and is able to tow a 10-foot trailer, such as a suburban. If you can assist with this need, please contact youth pastor Andy Chinn at 360-286-4420.

Leaders for The Vine

Do you love kids and would you be willing to serve three to four hours a week? We are seeking leaders for our weekly Vine program. Leaders will receive materials to guide them, but also have the freedom to choose other materials if they are appropriate for their group and have approval from Pastor Andy.

sf_city_impactPray for our Youth Mission Trip

Our Youth will depart at the crack of dawn Sunday for their San Francisco City Impact Trip. While there, they will assist programs that help inner city families. Please keep the following in your prayers until they return July 6th:

Thanks from MOPS

PBF hosts the Mothers of Preschoolers, or MOPS, meeting twice a month as well as a bible study and other organizational gatherings. The group brings hundreds of women and young children through our doors every year. We received the following letter of thanks from the group:

Pastor Brent, Anita, Staff & PBF Family:

Thank you so much for your support of the PBF MOPS group and especially the retreat this past weekend.

The moms who attended enjoyed time to prepare and plan the coming year, and are excited to reach out to other moms for support and to share Christ!

We also enjoyed time to build friendships, and to reflect quietly.

We are looking forward to an exciting year! Thanks again for all the support of this MOPS Ministry.

Sincerely,

Vanessa Moore

Junior Camp 2012

Here are the highlights of last week's Junior Camp. Looks like it was a great time. Our brave campers swam despite the chilly air and all enjoyed a good old water fight.

Summer Children's Program Begins

This Sunday the Treasure Trove will begin its summer schedule. Children who were in grades three though five last school year should stay with their parents in the sanctuary for the service. Babies and toddlers should be taken directly to the nursery. Children in preschool through second grade last school year will be dismissed after the first 10 minutes or worship. Preschoolers will go to Room 111. Kindergarten through second-graders will go to Room 211. Children will be promoted to the next grade in September.

Summer in the USA students arrive

Students from the Basque country of Spain arrived this week to  stay with host families, many from our congregation. The students will learn English, more about life in America, and life in a Christian home. They arrived  Wednesday and return July 27th. This year, 99 donors contributed $8,910 to the program to fund special activities, and offset program costs so they are more affordable for participating students. Thanks to all of you!

Hillbilly Youth Summer Camp

July 27-30, 2012

Summer Camp is for High School and Junior High students and is located along the Duckabush River at Wilderness Northwest. We will be tent camping in a forested area about 5 minutes from the river. There is a covered dining area, a shower house, indoor restrooms, and a field for games.

Camp provides an experience that is hard to replicate back home. Relationships are formed and friends made that can last a lifetime. This year we are anxious to open God's Word and discover how we can find joy in all circumstances.

Youth will experience: team games, teaching, sharing, hillbilly cat fishing, free time, alligator hunting, zip line, board games, low ropes course, fort building, worship, movie, basketball, cabin time, capture the flag, and night games.

Registration and cost

Early registration must be complete before July 1st and is $100. For additional students within the same family during the early registration period, the cost is $90. For general registration, completed between July 2nd and 15th, the cost is $110. No registrations are allowedafter July 15th. Cost includes: Camp shirt, transportation, camping fees, and meals on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. For financial aid or arrangements, please complete the Partial Scholarship Assistance Form available in the main office or the welcome desk.
