Bring your filled baby bottles

All those who collected money and change in the baby bottles for Pregnancy Resources Services will present them during the services Sunday. Children are especially invited to bring the bottles forward before the children are dismissed.  If you forgot to bring your bottle today, please either drop it off in the office during office hours next week or give it to Machele Cave next week. Pregnancy Resource Services exists to share the life-changing message of Jesus by offering practical, emotional, and spiritual help to each woman who comes through the door.

Help us pass the plate

Seeking assistants for offering: We are now taking offering during the service in addition to our other methods of giving. We need six helpers to assist each service as the plates are passed. We would like volunteers willing to take the offering on a once-a-month serving schedule. If you could help, please contact us.  Adults, children and youth are all welcome to serve in this way. Email Machele Cave or call 360-692-6549 ext. 22. We continue to accept offerings via our giving slots near the entrances, by mail or online.

Job opportunity: Janitorial
10 hours per week
Our facilities are extremely busy and our facilities director Marvin Nelson needs assistance to maintain them.
We are seeking someone who could work approximately 10 hours per week, typically in the afternoons. Email Jason Caldwell for questions or to apply or call the office at 360-692-6549.

Bus drivers needed

Jim Krein has faithfully served as our bus maintenance person and driver. It is now time to recruit additional drivers for the bus ministry, which transports our children and youth to camp. If you are interested, please contact Jim at 360-377-5305 or email the main office here. A commercial driver's license is necessary.

Give 2 Sundays this summer and make a HUGE difference
We are seeking families to volunteer this summer to greet those attending worship. If you could volunteer your time for just two Sundays, it would make a huge difference and allow us to continue to be gracious hosts to all those here to worship. We would love for children to participate with their parents, grandparents or guardians. Email Machele Cave or call the office at 360-692-6549 to choose your weeks and preferred service.

What are the youth doing on their mission trips?
Youth are going to serve on two different trips this summer. To participate, each youth must promise to raise funds and work toward covering the $600 cost of his or her trip.
  • In Canada: 17 youths will travel to the homeland of the Ulkatcho Tribe on Anahim Lake. While there, they will be guests of the tribe and assist with a summer vacation bible school for about 40 children in kindergarten through fifth grade during the day and a teen program for 25 to 30 students at night. When they do get a chance to sleep, they will stay in the Anahim Lake Resort courtesy of the tribe.
  • In San Francisco: 11 youth will work with the highly touted San Francisco City Impact program. The inner-city support organization offers tutoring, children's programs and food and clothing distribution for low-income families and individuals. Students will stay in living quarters designed for youth on mission trips.
How else can I help? The Youth Program is still looking for a truck, Suburban or similar vehicle that could be used to tow equipment and bags for either trip. Rental companies will not permit their vehicles to tow anything. If you can help, contact Youth Pastor Andy Chinn.

Send Ben to Caramoor...

Peninsula Bible Fellowship

Freewill Offering

Ben Harris has the chance to fulfill a lifelong dream this summer as he travels to participate in the Bel Canto program at Caramoor Center for Music and Arts in upstate New York. The program identifies emerging opera singers, brings them together with developed longtime professionals and then all perform in highly touted concerts.

But to perform, Ben must leave his job as a waiter in Poulsbo's Burrata Bistro and leave his family behind. Although he is given a small stipend for his travel expenses and living quarters, it's not enough to support his young family during the weeks-long run of the program.

Harris has sung during worship for Peninsula Bible Fellowship including a musical offering of "O Love That Will Not Let Me Go," during Easter services this year. He married his wife, Melanie at PBF, though  each lived in Tacoma at the time. They have attended church here for three years. Ben and Melanie have two children, Sophie, 4, and Sam, 2.

Ben said he tried out for opera because, "They were always telling me I was too loud."  He has gone on to perform in numerous operas both locally in the Puget Sound Region and abroad.

This opportunity to sing with Caramoor could open tremendous doors for Ben and the Harris family. The program is well known for launching opera singers.

"I would really like to be able to use my voice to support my family.  I would like to be able to minister to people through it too. It was given to me and I love being able to share it out there."
