Support grows for TLC
More than a dozen people attending a brainstorming session to develop a ministry of care for those going through crisis in our PBF family. An early emphasis of the program is likely to include hospital visits and delivering meals to those in need.
As the program begins to gel, we will share more information here in Life of PBF to share the resources available and welcome those in the congregation to alert us of needs.

Church work party set
for March 31st
Volunteers are needed for a church work party from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31st. We are seeking a group to spruce up the church for Easter and the coming spring.

We will be: weeding flower beds, spreading wood chips, clearing brush, transplanting trees and leveling ground.

You can bring: gloves, rakes, weeding tools, wheelbarrows, large flat shovels, pruning tools, weed whackers, or leaf blowers.

If you have questions, contact Marvin at 692-6549 Ext. 26 or write "Work Party" on your communication card and place it in the collection kiosks near either exit.

There is no child care for this event, but we encourage children to help alongside their parents.

Junior Camp begins
registration for this year

Our annual camp for children will be held from 5 p.m. Friday, June 22nd, through 5 p.m . Sunday, June 24 at beautiful Camp St. Albans near Belfair. We welcome students who were in grades 3 through 6 for the 2011/2012 school year. Because of the snow days and their impact on end date of the school year, Junior Camp is a bit shorter this year.  Registration ends May 1st. Limited space is available with room for only 56 children. Register early. There is a waiting list every year. The cost for camp is $90 per student. Pay by check in the offering slot or by credit card online on our church website at www.peninsulabible.org. Click on "Give" and "Online" and select "Junior Camp." Registration forms are required and must be completed by an adult.  For information, ask Tonya Kipple at 360-692-6549 ext15 or tonya.kipple@peninsulabible.org.

More than 100 kids and kids-at-heart took to the floor to enjoy a night of fun and fellowship with others from PBF.
Familes and couples make friends
and have fun skating with PBF

Jason Caldwell wore his best flamboyant fashion.

PBF launched its Young Families Group March 11th with an 80s skate night at Skateland in Bremerton. Thirty-eight families attended, which meant nearly 150 people enjoyed rolling about and getting to know friends from PBF. Many of the families came from MOPS or were first-time visitors to a PBF event. All enjoyed exclusive use of the facility.

The skating rink managers were so excited by the attendance, they gave away a free one-month family pass to the rink. Many other prizes were donated by local businesses. Thanks to Connie Lander for requesting and gathering the generous prizes. They included: three pounds of Starbucks coffee beans, a $15 BluBerry Frozen Yogurt gift certificate, a $20 gift card to Dairy Queen, a four-pack of cupcakes and gift card for a free dozen cupcakes from Bella Bella Cupcakes, and a backpack and water bottle from Haselwood Family YMCA.

Watch for more Young Couples and Families events or follow the PBF Young Families Facebook page. The group is open to families with a child under 12 or young married couples who do not yet have children.

Food and fun at Taste of Basque

PBF transformed March 9th into a street in Basque country. Seventy people strolled through various cafes and coffeehouses learning more about Basque culture. While sipping sparkling cider and a coffee concoction, they also

enjoyed pintxo's, or hors d'oeuvres, including champies, chatka, ketarri, udaberria, and ensalada rusa.

The event raised about $1,700 for Summer in the USA, a program that hosts students from Basque country to visit the United States for several weeks.

Ten Basque students are expected to attend the program this summer. Typically, it costs $1,000 to pay the expenses of one student for the program. The organization still needs $6,000 to meet its fund-raising goals.

DONALD HAINES
DONALD "DON" HAINES

Peninsula Bible Fellowship will host Celebration of Life services for Donald "Don" Noble Haines, 56, at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 24.

Haines worked the past 11 years at Olympic College teaching physics for the apprentice program at PSNS.

Don's greatest loves were his parents, Carl and Wanda Haines, his dogs, Neesh and Rosta, Saturday lattes with his dearest friends. He also loved backpacking, camping, fly fishing, hiking, kayaking, shooting, and wood working. He was a member of Tim Rogers' care group at PBF.

Don is survived by his mother, Wanda (Swisshelm) Haines and preceded in death by his father, Carl Noble Haines. Graveside services were held in Sabina, OH, on March 14th.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations, the family asked that donations be made to Don's home church, Peninsula Bible Fellowship.
