Help others in our church
Two members of the PBF family have recently had surgery to repair serious leg injuries. Neither will be mobile for some time.
One is a single male and other other is married woman, and both are essentially homebound.
Both would benefit greatly from a home-cooked meal, and the woman would sincerely appreciate visitors as she convalesces for three months.
If you would like to assist, please call the office at 360-692-6549 or try heidi.evans@peninsulabible.org. We would like to provide them with the support that the Body of Christ can give.

Feed the hungry
From March 1st though 8th, PBF is responsible for arranging teams to feed those living in Benedict House. The facility provides emergency shelter and transitional housing with supportive services for single homeless men and homeless men with children. Currently about 26 men and 1 child live there.
Volunteers are needed to plan, shop for, and cook dinner. Three or four volunteers are needed for each night. This is an ideal project for a Care Group to complete.
In each team of volunteers, one must have a food handler's license. This is easy to obtain by completing an online training session and test from the Washington Department of Health. The process takes about 90 minutes. If you choose to take the test online, use the link through the Kitsap County Department of Health as there are many illicit sites offering this program.
If you or your Care Group would like to participate in this hands-on, loving form of ministry, please contact Ted Orr at 360-692-5680. Learn more on our website.

Fifteen new members join PBF during class
|
Last Sunday, Pastor Brent James and the elders met with about 20 people interested in becoming members of Peninsula Bible Fellowship. Fifteen of them chose to join the church that night and others may follow. The new members will be officially received in the body on February 19th. We will share their names and photos in Life of PBF that week and ask you to welcome them.
The new members learned the church's history, bylaws (don't worry we didn't read them, they just got a copy), and views on communion, baptism and offering. They also got a sneak peak of Pastor Brent's goals for membership, which include a clear vision of the expectations of members of the church and how these actions will lead to growing spiritual lives.
If you would like to participate in a new members class, the next one is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, April 22nd.

Book of Ruth inspires at Girls (Giggling) Getaway |
Last weekend, twenty-one girls in grades three through six enjoyed a weekend studying the Book of Ruth, complete with games, fun and LOTS of giggles.
Children's Ministry Director Tonya Kipple said that she even caught one girl at 1 a.m. reading her Ruth materials by the light of a glow stick.
"It was an awesome time of growth," Tonya said.

Men gather for monthly breakfast
|
The log cabin was filled with food and fellowship as about 60 men gathered Saturday for a monthly breakfast. They heard the story of Lou Goslee of PBF who shared how God has lovingly and slowly shaped his life. Lou's story was something every man could relate to, and receive encouragement.
The next breakfast is scheduled for Feb. 25th from 7 to 8:15 a.m. in the Log Cabin. Ted Berney, a church elder, will be speaking. Come as you are. RSVP is not needed.

Youths gather for Rite of Passage
|
|
Youth in 10th through 12th grades freaked out the neighbors at their annual Rite of Passage event last weekend in rural Belfair. Twenty-one students participated. They learned how they wear different masks as they walk through their lives and how they can serve Jesus best by taking off those masks and revealing their faith. They learned what it means to be an adult and spiritually mature follower of Christ.
In an annual part of the experience, students took turns laying in a coffin to symbolically bury their immature selves. Meanwhile Youth Pastor Andy Chinn would pound on the lid with a hammer. The racket caused the neighbors to check out what was going on, thinking there might be someone vandalizing the property. Pastor Andy said they were even more frightened when they found him by flashlight banging on a coffin lid. It all ended well with plenty of laughter.
