Vol 2, Issue 6

Jones Mtn Carriage Rd - TPL

Come see the 158-acre property that was permanently preserved through the Town of New Hartford's open space program in 2006 with technical assistance from the Trust for Public Land along with major funding from a state grant, local taxpayers and the New Hartford Land Trust's (NHLT) Campaign for Jones Mountain.

Walk the old carriage roads lined with culverts built by Irish stonemasons long ago and catch great views at the top.

Jeanne Jones will co-lead this guided hike. She will talk about her family's history and stewardship of the property through the generations. Co-Leader Paul Mahoney of the New Hartford Conservation Commission will highlight work done since the Town's purchase of the land.
