ORGANIZATIONS & SCHOOL GROUPS

Lin-Wood School 11/11 Would you care to have a presentation on the history and future of the Flying Yankee complete with video and literature at your facility?  Please call us at 603-661-3317.  If you would  like to hold a class aboard the Flying Yankee, we can arrange to the time for you along with video, literature, and a presenter.  Last year the Lin-Wood 7th grade Social Studies Class was given a class aboard one on the Hob Railroad passenger cars followed with a class aboard the Flying Yankee.  As you read from their essays, it was quite successful.

FLYING YANKEE RESTORATION CURRENT GOAL

The Flying Yankee Restoration Group, with the continued support of  Lou Barker (NH DOT) and Ben Clark (President of Hobo Railroad, Lincoln, NH)  continues to raise funds and solicit donations to return the Flying Yankee to its restored trucks.  The projected cost is between $125,000 - $150,000 which includes brake work, crane service, rigging, couplers, etc.

With the Flying Yankee on its trucks, on the rail, and the cover permanently removed, Ben will be able to move it to various cities/towns.  While on display in your city/town you will be able to tour the interior of the Flying Yankee,  attend and hold educational classes on board.  The FRA graciously donated four monitors (1 for each car) for information and education.

Visualize for a moment this streamlined, stainless steel icon built over 75 years ago, visiting your area.  Think back when this was a fantastic piece of equipment racing down the rails and you will see and feel what your parents and grandparents must have felt at the time.
