 Ms Iveta Cherneva, Head of Communications of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is visiting Brussels on 4 Oct this year. Two months before the UN climate change negotiations she will take the opportunity to engage the EU Brussels community and leading financial institutions from Asia on the question of climate change finance in the context of Asia-Europe relations. About Iveta Cherneva
Iveta Cherneva joined the UNEP Finance Initiative as a Head of Communications in the beginning of 2010 where she directs the Unit's communications strategy, manages media relations and leads the communications team. Her previous appointments include Oxford University Global Economic Governance Programme (Oxford), the United Nations Press Office in Geneva (Geneva), The Geneva Academy for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights (Geneva), The International Peace Operations Association (Washington DC), and the United States Congress, assisting the Chairman of the International Organizations Subcommittee (Washington DC).
Iveta holds a Master in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute in Geneva, and a BA in International Relations from University College Utrecht. She also attended a political science program at the University of California, completed a diploma in US Foreign Policy at American Univesity in Washington DC, and attended Georgetown Law School as the 2007 William H. Donner Fellow.
Iveta is the author of a number of publications on business and sustainability, including the co-authored book Beyond Market Forces. She speaks English, Bulgarian, Russian, German, Dutch, Swedish and French.
