Chamber of Commerce Hosting Candidates Forum Thursday (9/20) 

Get to know congressional and state candidates running for office. Senate and Congressional candidates have been invited to this event hosted by the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with North Carolina Chamber and the North Carolina Prosperity Project. Frank Fraboni of WLOS will moderate. The event will also be LIVE broadcasted on Independent Asheville Radio 1350 AM WZGM. See which candidates plan to attend.
WCMS collaborates with HCMS on Henderson County Chronic Pain Forum
The Henderson County Medical Society along with the Western Carolina Medical Society will be hosting a forum entitled Prescribing for Pain: A Life or Death Practice Med8.jpgon September 26th at the Highland Lake Inn in Flat Rock. This event will give providers the opportunity to learn more about the prescription pain medication abuse issues in Western North Carolina, how to address the issues, and how providers can help create better outcomes for their chronic pain patients. Presentations will include state and local data, practice tools, and examples of practice formats from your local providers. If you are a physician practicing in Henderson County and would like more information about this event please visit our website.

NCMS Joins Other Medical Societies in Urging Congress to Nullify 2 percent Medicare Sequester

The North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) has joined over 100 other state and specialty medical societies in a letter calling on Congress to nullify the two percent Medicare cut required under the Budget Control Act of 2011. The letter emphasizes the cut could not come at a worse time. Continue reading.
