NC Health Rankings by County Recently Published

The 3rd Annual County Health Rankings for each county in the nation has been released, offering a way for us to take a look at how healthy we are today and how healthy we will be in the future. These rankings, although very broad, help us see where we, as a community, are making some improvements.

2011 Tax Planning Options... It is Not Too Late
Although 2011 is already over and the initial individual tax deadline of April 17 is almost here, there is still time to consider and implement 2011 planning solutions.  Some retirement plan options allow taxpayers to fund the retirement vehicle in the year following the close of the tax year.  Please find below a couple of options we often recommend to our physician clients.  A taxpayer may be eligible for contributions to both of the options.

Caring- It's What We're About

Our 2012 WCMS Annual Campaign launches this week and will run through May 10th.  We are appealing to our WCMS members  through our new Physicians in Philanthropy Program to raise critical dollars for our Foundation's charitable programming and services-  Project Access,  WNC Interpreter Network, Minority Medical Mentoring Program, Dr. Charles Blair Health Parity Scholarship Fund, and Living Healthy Program.

When a mailing arrives in your home or office by April 15, please respond and make your pledge as a member of WCMS.  You will help remove barriers of health disparities, provide much needed access to health care, ensure that patients communicate effectively with their physicians, help families live healthier lives, and help ensure our future by guiding students who may choose medicine as their profession.

Most Sincerely,

Brent Jeffries, MD
